4 weeks and 14 hours later, it’s done. All the freshmen and sophomore have received their computers (unless they are new). Only 7 of 330 laptops were not able to connect. It was almost perfect. I could not be happier of how the night went.
The faculty do not envy my job and yet, they care completely confused of how relax I am. Some of their comments were hysterical: “Have you ever thought about medicine? You handle pressure extremely well.” Or better yet, “We enjoy watching you work. You entertain in addition to fixing things.”
What they don’t know is that in order to be in Information Technology (IT), one must have much patience. Additionally, when it comes to any technology, people need to remember the IT motto: “Faith, Hope, and Love.” Have FAITH in technology. HOPE that nothing goes wrong. And LOVE your computer…they have feelings too.
